Summer in Vail means The Vail Farmer’s Market and Art Show.
What began 17 years ago as a few tents over several weekends has grown to 135 vendors filling Meadow Drive from 10-3:30 every Sunday, June 18-October 1. Local growers sell fruits and vegetables, and there are a myriad of other edible delights to be prepared later or gobbled up right away. Artisans offer an array of hand-crafted wares from paintings, photography and furniture to jewelry and clothing. Local outdoor companies and bike shops sell gear. Booksellers offer titles by home-grown writers. Often, local musicians perform, as do visiting artists from Vail Jazz. This summer, three Farm-to-Table Series Dinners are scheduled along the banks of Gore Creek. These open-air meals will be created by renowned local chefs.
A simple stroll through this festive, pet-friendly atmosphere, set amid the surrounding peaks, serves up the vibrancy of mountain life. For more information or tickets to the Farm-to-Table Series Dinners, go to http://www.vailfarmersmarket.com.
